Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Rugga (the "App"), operated by Rugga Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17249798). Contact: hello@rugga.app.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
1. The App
Rugga is a rugby-specific training app for amateur club players. It provides:
- Structured strength & conditioning programmes.
- Workout logging and progressive overload tracking.
- A squad feed for sharing workouts and competing on leaderboards within your rugby club.
- Nutrition tracking.
- Match-readiness check-ins.
- Player-vs-player and squad-vs-squad challenges.
The App is not medical advice. Always consult a qualified medical professional before starting a new exercise programme, especially if you have a health condition or are recovering from injury.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. By signing up, you confirm that you are.
You may not use the App if:
- You're banned from a similar service for breach of terms.
- Your country prohibits this kind of service.
- You're using the App on behalf of someone who would be ineligible.
3. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
- You must give accurate and current information.
- Don't share your account with anyone else.
- You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms (see Section 8).
4. Subscriptions and payments
4.1 Free trial
New users get a 7-day free trial of full features. Card details are required at signup; you'll be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then. Users who sign up via a referral code get a 30-day free month instead — same card-on-file requirement.
4.2 Pricing
- Individual monthly: £7.99/month.
- Individual annual: £80/year.
- Club seat pack: £100/month or £1,000/year for 20 seats.
Prices in your local currency (if not GBP) are set by Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe based on your region.
4.3 Payment processing
- Individual subscriptions on iOS go through Apple StoreKit.
- Individual subscriptions on Android go through Google Play Billing.
- Club seat packs go through Stripe on the web at rugga.app.
Each provider has its own terms and privacy policy.
4.4 Renewals and cancellation
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period.
- You can cancel anytime via the App Store, Play Store, or Stripe customer portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- If you cancel during a free trial, you won't be charged.
- We don't offer refunds for partial periods. App Store and Play Store refund policies are determined by Apple and Google.
4.5 Referral credits
- Successful referrals earn the referrer a 1-month-free credit applied to their next bill (£7.99 individual, £100 club).
- The credit is only issued after the referred user makes their first real payment (i.e. survives day 31).
- Maximum 12 months of credits per user per rolling 12-month window.
- Credits expire 12 months after being earned if unused.
4.6 Club seat packs
- Each pack covers exactly 20 seats — a hard cap.
- The 21st player to redeem the code receives an error; the captain must purchase another pack to expand.
- Captains can release seats — released seats become available for new redemptions.
- Members covered by an active seat pack will not be billed individually; if they previously had an individual subscription, it auto-flags for cancellation at next renewal (the player must confirm cancellation in their App Store / Play Store settings).
5. Your content
You may post text, photos, and challenge results to your club's feed. By posting:
- You confirm you own the content (or have permission to share it).
- You grant Rugga a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display the content within the App to your fellow club members for as long as your account is active.
- You agree not to post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- You retain ownership — we don't claim copyright over your content.
- We may remove content that violates these Terms or is reported by other users.
You can delete your own posts at any time. When you delete your account, your posts are removed within 30 days.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the App to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Post content that is sexually explicit, hateful, or violent.
- Attempt to access another user's account without permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the App.
- Use the App to send spam or unsolicited communications.
- Misrepresent who you are or which club you play for.
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the App except where explicitly permitted.
- Use the App to compete commercially with us (e.g. extract our programme content into a competing service).
Squad captains have additional moderation tools (mute, remove members) and are responsible for the conduct of their squad. Repeated abuse by a captain may result in the entire club losing access.
7. Intellectual property
- All App design, code, copy, programme content, and branding remain the property of Rugga Limited.
- Rugga's training programmes are licensed to you for personal use only — you may not redistribute, sell, or republish them.
- You may share your own workout results (e.g. via the share-card feature).
- "Rugga" and the Rugga logo are unregistered trademarks; please don't use them to imply endorsement.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You breach these Terms.
- You post content that violates Section 6.
- We're legally required to (e.g. a court order).
- Your subscription payment is repeatedly declined.
- We discontinue the App (in which case we'll give 90 days' notice and refund any unused subscription period).
You may terminate your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don't guarantee that:
- The App will always work without bugs or downtime.
- Workout programmes will produce specific results for any individual.
- Other users' content is accurate or appropriate.
- Your data won't ever be lost (though we do back up regularly).
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Rugga's total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the App is limited to:
The greater of: (a) £100, or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We're not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
- Injury sustained while exercising — you're responsible for training within your capabilities and consulting a medical professional if unsure.
Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Anything else that can't be excluded under UK law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the App and delete your account.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence.
